Spirit is inseparably woven into daily life. It is through our lived experience that we experience Spirit directly -- all the time! Whether we're in line at the grocery store or praying on a mountaintop, Spirit is there.

So every life experience has within it an opportunity to teach more about the Holy, more about ourselves, more about our relationships and our world.

My job as a Spiritual Director is to help each person notice Spirit and hear the wisdom that is there for her or him.

To do that we might have to wade through some "noise." The noise can be past teachings that aren't helpful any more, and it can also be painful experiences that have caused a person to throw the spiritual baby out with the bath. Whatever it is, the goal is the same: to help each person connect with his or her own sense of what is Holy, and to live out of her or his innate wisdom.
