Spiritual Memoir
Spiritual Memoir celebrates the unlikely places Spirit shows up in our lives. We use writing as a tool for looking at stapshots in time, often noticing Spirit where we were too involved in the moment to see it the first time through.

These gatherings will introduce the practice of spiritual memoir as presented by Elizabeth Andrew in her book Writing the Sacred Journey.

We will write during our time together, but the purpose of the session is not so much about the writing as it is about the practice of noticing Spirit in our lives. We will explore and share together in an environment of mutual caring and respect. People from all spiritual traditions are welcome.

Offered:

  • Q Center: 5 consecutive weeks starting July 15, 2010, 6:30 PM
  • MCC Portland: 2nd and 4th Tuesday evenings in July and August, 7:00 PM
  • Other Sessions scheduled by appointment. In general a series of 6 to 8 sessions (weekly if possible) is best.

LGBTQ Spirituality Group
A safe place where LGBTQ folk can come together, celebrate and share our spiritual journeys. Each session includes a timely focus and open discussion.

Offered:
Urban Spirituality Center: third Tuesday of each month, 7:00. Check out our page on Meetup.com or email Kate for more information.

Women at Midlife: Naming our Journey, Claiming our Power
We live in a culture where women are generally seen as less interesting, less important, less valuable, as we get older. But that wasn’t always the case. Ancient traditions valued the three stages of a woman’s life. Maiden, Mother and Crone each had her lessons to learn and wisdom to teach.

And so as we age the Crone begins to emerge, cutting through to the heart of the matter. In this series we will tell our stories, explore our questions, and ultimately foster the wisdom of the Crone, welcoming her purposeful power into our lives. We’ll do ritual, play, talk, and explore, all the while coaxing the Crone in each of us to show her wisdom.

Offered:
By appointment.
